Virtual classrooms and course delivery at scale
Nexlantic builds learning management systems for schools, universities, and training providers: course authoring, live and recorded classes, assessments, and analytics that show who is falling behind.

How we approach learning management systems
A learning management system has to serve three very different users at once. Learners need courses that load quickly on any device and remember where they left off. Instructors need to publish content, run live sessions, grade work, and see progress without a help desk ticket. Administrators need enrolment, reporting, and integrations with student information and payment systems. We design the platform around those three workflows rather than a generic content library.
Our builds use Next.js and TypeScript for a fast, accessible front end, PostgreSQL for enrolments, grades, and content metadata, and Google Cloud for video storage, transcoding, and global delivery. Courses are published in SCORM and xAPI formats where institutions need them, and single sign-on connects the LMS to existing identity providers. Progress analytics run on the same data, so instructors and administrators see the same numbers.
Modules this kind of system usually needs
Course authoring
Modules, lessons, video, documents, and quizzes assembled in a drag-and-drop editor, with versioning and scheduled release.
Virtual classrooms
Live sessions with breakout rooms, chat, polls, and recordings that are published to the course automatically.
Assessments and grading
Quizzes, assignments, rubrics, plagiarism checks via integration, and grade books that export to student information systems.
Learner progress analytics
Completion, time on task, scores, and engagement signals surfaced per learner, cohort, and course, with early-warning flags.
Enrolment and payments
Self-enrolment, cohorts, waitlists, coupons, and payment gateway integration for paid courses and certifications.
Certificates and compliance records
Automatically issued certificates, renewal reminders, and exportable training records for regulated workplaces.
How it is typically built
The structural decisions that keep the platform secure, observable and ready to grow.
- Next.js and TypeScript application with server-side rendering for fast first loads and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility targets
- PostgreSQL schema for users, enrolments, content structure, attempts, and grades, with read replicas for reporting
- Google Cloud Storage and Transcoder API for uploaded video, delivered through Cloud CDN with signed URLs
- Live classroom integration through WebRTC providers, with recordings written back to the course on session end
- SCORM and xAPI runtime support plus LTI 1.3 for embedding third-party tools
- SAML and OpenID Connect single sign-on with Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra, and institutional identity providers

Learning management systems: common questions
Yes. We build integrations that sync rosters, enrolments, and grades with student information systems over their APIs or scheduled file exchange, and support LTI 1.3 for connecting third-party tools. During discovery we map which system owns each record so data flows in one direction.
The front end is responsive, server-rendered, and tested on low-end Android devices. Video is transcoded to adaptive bitrates so playback adjusts to available bandwidth, and course pages cache aggressively. For regions with intermittent connectivity we can add downloadable lessons with progress synced when the learner reconnects.
Not always. Off-the-shelf platforms suit standard course delivery well. A custom build makes sense when your teaching model, assessment rules, integrations, or branding do not fit those products, or when licensing costs grow with every learner. We will say so if an existing product is the better fit.
